Begin your journey at Farol da Barra, the historic lighthouse marking the very spot where Salvador was founded in 1549. From here, enjoy a scenic drive along Sete de Setembro Avenue and Corredor da Vitória, where elegant colonial mansions and leafy boulevards showcase the city’s rich heritage.
Continue through Campo Grande, Piedade Square, and Castro Alves Square, vibrant landmarks that reflect Salvador’s cultural and historical significance. From there, step into the heart of the city with a guided walk through the colorful streets of the historic center, where centuries of history unfold at every corner.

From there, step into the kitchen with expert local chefs who will guide you through the preparation of classic Afro-Brazilian dishes, sharing the stories, traditions, and cultural influences that have shaped Bahia’s rich culinary heritage.

Day 4
Candomble: Religious, Social Focus and Community Visit
Discover the spiritual and cultural heart of Salvador through an immersive journey into Candomblé, one of Brazil’s most powerful Afro-Brazilian traditions. Blending African spiritual practices with elements of Catholicism, Candomblé centers around the worship of sacred deities known as Orixás, each representing forces of nature and aspects of life.
Your experience begins with a visit to a traditional Candomblé temple, where you’ll gain insight into this deeply rooted spiritual practice that continues to preserve African heritage and values in modern-day Salvador.
From there, head to Curuzu–Liberdade, the city’s largest Afro-descendant community and a vibrant center of Afro-Brazilian culture. Enjoy a guided neighborhood walk through its lively streets, with a quick stop at a local bar to soak in the authentic atmosphere.
Next, admire the striking Orixá sculptures at Dique do Tororó, a scenic lake where these monumental figures honor the sacred deities of Candomblé. Your cultural journey concludes in the colorful seaside district of Rio Vermelho, home to the famous House of Yemanjá, the beloved goddess of the sea. Each year on February 2nd, thousands gather here to celebrate Yemanjá in one of Brazil’s most spectacular spiritual festivals.

Your international flight should arrive in Salvador–Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport (SSA)
We do not provide airfare as part of our package. This allows our travelers the flexibility to choose their preferred airline, schedule, and seating preferences. Our Travel Planners can however advise the airport/s and recommended times you’d need to fly into/out of to reach the destination.
Prices are based on double occupancy - This means you will be traveling with a friend or family. If you are traveling solo or if you would like to book a single room there is an additional one time fee of $1200 during low season and $1300 during high season.

- We will provide you with a list of accommodation options based on your budget and any preferences you provide to us once your trip is confirmed – this gives you the opportunity to select the hotel that best suits your taste.
- The best time to visit Brazil is between December and March, when the weather is warm and sunny enough to hit the beaches. The city’s seductive samba beat and incredible panoramic views last year-round, but arrive in February to experience Carnival.
- A valid U.S. passport is required to travel to Brazil.
- VISA: Citizens travelling with passports from the United States visiting Brazil for tourism and business will be subject to visa requirements for entry into Brazilian territory starting from April 10th, 2025. These citizens can require e-Visas through the portal. The process is easy, and quick and if the requirements mentioned below are met, in a few days the applicant will receive the e-Visa in his or her e-mail.

Cancellation policy
- All deposits are non-refundable, however, you can transfer your deposit to a future trip of your choice.
- If you’re over 60 days away from departure, switching to another trip is easy! Simply send an email to your trip coordinator and move your payment balance over to another trip of your choice. Please note if your accommodations have already been booked the property may apply penalties – our team will always try to book flexible options ,however, if the property has a strict cancellation policy the credit applied to your account will be less any applicable cancellation fees by the property.
- Cancellations within 30-60 days of your departure date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee of the total amount paid after the deposit. The remaining 50% balance will be applied as a credit towards a future trip.
- Cancellations made within 30 days of the scheduled departure date or less are subject to a 100% charge of the total amount paid after the deposit.
