Are men allowed on group trips?

Our trips are for women only unless specified otherwise - In 2022 here are the trips that are for both men and women: Thailand, Kenya, Iceland, Brazil, Bali Baecation and Ghana

What does double occupancy mean?

All prices listed for our group trips are per person, double occupancy means you will be paired with another solo traveler of your choice or with a friend. Single occupancy means that you have your own room - typically there is an additional cost for a private room which varies based on the trip.

What's included on the Trips?

Inclusions vary from trip to trip and depend on the country but each experience is designed to ensure everything is handled from the moment you land till you head back home. This means that we handle your accommodations we only book luxury hotels, airport transfers, activities and more to ensure you have a stress free experience.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes! We can accommodate all diets, allergies and dietary restrictions, just make sure to let us know. Prior to your arrival we will send out an inquiry form to gather all the necessary information to prepare for your trip.

What is your Cancellation Policy for trips not affected by covid-19?

AMENDMENTS & CANCELLATION You can cancel or amend your trip up to 60 days prior to trip departure. Any differences in trip costs between your original and new booking will still be applicable. You can cancel your trip up to 60 days before departure and get your money back as a credit towards a future trip. Your flexible deposit will remain attached to your profile and can be used to book a new trip whenever you're ready. If your trip is running as planned with no travel restrictions affecting you from attending the trip If you wish to cancel then the following cancellation penalties apply: Payments made after your deposit: Cancellations within 30-60 days of your departure date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee of the total amount paid after the deposit. The remaining 50% balance will be applied as a credit towards a future trip. Cancellations made within 30 days of the scheduled departure date or less are subject to a 100% charge of the total amount paid after the deposit.

What is the average group size?

Our group trips typically range anywhere from 12-24 guests, depending on the style of trip and the country!

PRICING

The payment towards your trip can be paid out bi-weekly, monthly or all at once. It is important to keep up with the minimum trip payment schedule, when you make payments towards your trip we in turn book activities, hotels and more on your behalf.

Be sure to inform us ahead of the deadlines if you anticipate making a late payment.

Sign-ups will stay open until the trip is full. If you are joining the trip late simply pay your deposit to confirm your spot on the trip and catch up with your remaining payments.

Can I come alone or do I need to bring a friend?

Either or! The great thing about these travel meet-ups is that it's a wonderful opportunity to connect with other like-minded travelers and make new friendships. More than half of our guests are coming solo and a few are bringing a bestie or two!

Are international flights included?

We do not provide airfare as part of our package. This allows our travelers the flexibility to choose their preferred airline, schedule, and seating preferences. Our Travel Planners can however advise the airport/s and recommended times you’d need to fly into/out of to reach the destination.

Where should we arrive?

Your flight should arrive at O. R. Tambo International Airport (IATA: JNB, ICAO: FAOR) where you will be welcomed by one of our representatives holding a signboard written ""Luxe Tribes"". You will depart from Cape Town International Airport (IATA: CPT, ICAO: FACT).

Where will we stay?

We will be staying in Luxury hotel accommodations in Johannesburg and Capetown (Voco RoseBank or equivalent in Johannesburg and Pepper Club or equivalent in Capetown.

What time do we check in and check out?

Check-in is at 2 p.m. on the first day of your trip, if you are arriving later on in the day, that is completely fine we have a welcome dinner on the first night, so do your best to be in before 6 p.m. However, if you are unable to arrive early, you can take the first day to unwind and recuperate before day 2 of the trip. Check-out is at 12 p.m. on the last day of the trip, you’ll be able to keep your luggage at the hotel if your flight is later in the day on the day of check out, but everyone must check out by noon.

What do I need to prepare for the trip?

Flights, travel insurance, any applicable visas and personal spending expenses.

How much is the single occupancy rate?

Single occupancy rate varies depending on the destination, you are able to confirm the rate on your trip dashboard.

How much free time is there?

You have one afternoon of free time in Johannesburg as well as 3 evenings in Capetown that you can use to relax, go out or go shopping.

Do I need a visa for travel to South Africa?

If you are a US passport holder, you do not need a visa to travel to South Africa You can check the visa requirements to South Africa from any country on https://www.visahq.com/ .

Do I need any vaccinations?

At the moment, there are no mandatory vaccinations required to enter South Africa. However, we encourage travellers to speak to their local travel clinic so that they can advise further. Please note that entry requirements may change at any time without prior notice from the local government.

Where can I see the final itinerary?

Final itineraries are usually shared with travelers by the travel planner 1 month prior to the starting date of the trip. However, you can check in the inclusions section of the trip what activities are included for you to have a better reference of your trip.

When can I expect to receive more information from Luxe Tribes, and when will I be connected with the other travelers?

We have the following calls planned with the trip travelers: Pre-Departure Call: 2 Months Prior, Final Departure Call: 1 Month Prior. In addition to these calls, feel free to reach out to us at any time.

Can I travel to a nearby country or city before/after the trip?

Yes, you are definitely able to travel beyond the group trip, please reach out to your travel planner to assist you.

What if I can’t make the dates?
