Sample itinerary

We have curated the perfect Ghana getaway with all of the highlights of Accra & Cape Coast.

Please note this is a sample itinerary and your actual itinerary would be adjusted based on your selected activities, dates of travel and of course your travel style!

Day 1
Welcome to Accra!

Arrive in Accra, where the vibrant energy of Ghana’s capital welcomes you. Upon landing, your driver will be waiting to greet you and provide a seamless private transfer to your hotel.

Once checked in, take time to relax, refresh, or begin exploring the city at your own pace, depending on your arrival time.

This evening, gather for a memorable welcome dinner, where you’ll savor the rich flavors of Ghanaian cuisine and begin immersing yourself in the culture, rhythms, and warm hospitality that define this remarkable destination.

Day 2
Accra City Tour

After breakfast, set out on a guided Accra City Tour and discover the vibrant spirit of Ghana’s dynamic capital.

Explore iconic landmarks that tell the story of the nation’s pride and independence, including the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, a powerful tribute to Ghana’s founding father, and Black Star Gate & Independence Square, enduring symbols of freedom and national unity.

Immerse yourself in Ghana’s rich cultural heritage with an energetic drumming and dancing experience at the Accra Arts Center, where you’ll learn traditional rhythms and movements in an atmosphere alive with music and creativity.

A delicious local lunch is included, offering the perfect opportunity to savor authentic Ghanaian flavors.

Day 3
Ghanaian Cultural Immersion Day

Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel before diving into an enriching day of hands-on cultural discovery.

Start with a vibrant batik fabric-making workshop, where you’ll design and dye your own colorful cloth using traditional techniques — a creative keepsake that reflects Ghana’s artistic heritage.

Later, step into the kitchen for an authentic Ghanaian cooking experience led by local chefs. Learn how to prepare signature dishes using fresh local ingredients, then savor the rich flavors of your creations for a truly rewarding lunch.

Day 4
Ancestral Heritage Experience

Set out early for Cape Coast with a packed breakfast in hand, beginning a powerful and reflective journey through Ghana’s history.

Today’s visits include:

– Elmina Castle — one of West Africa’s oldest European structures and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering profound insight into the transatlantic slave trade and the resilience of those who passed through its doors.
– Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Site — a place of remembrance where captives took their last bath before being taken to the coast, now a sacred site honoring ancestry and heritage.

A local lunch is included during the day.

After your visits, enjoy time to unwind along the Cape Coast shoreline, where the rhythm of the waves offers a moment for reflection and renewal.

Later, return to Accra for an overnight stay.

Day 5
Free Day

Enjoy a leisurely day at your own pace, with no scheduled activities.

Take this time to relax at your hotel, browse nearby markets, or venture out to discover Accra’s vibrant art galleries, boutique shops, and dynamic food scene.

Note: Transportation is not included today, giving you the flexibility to explore independently and tailor the day to your interests.

Day 6
Optional giving back to the community & Farewell Dinner

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before easing into a relaxed morning at your own pace. You may choose to unwind or participate in an optional community give-back project — a meaningful opportunity to connect with local residents and make a positive impact during your stay.

In the evening, celebrate the close of your Ghanaian adventure with a memorable Farewell Dinner. Share stories, laughter, and reflections as you savor local flavors and toast to the unforgettable experiences and connections made along the way.
